Cleaning Hack - Water Spots on Brushed Nickel

The days are coming to a close on the renovation on the rental house that we're fixing up. There are only a handful of tasks on the list left even with the surprise leak in a pipe in the wall. But we won't get into that.

The bathroom tubs and showers are getting refinished. I have fiberglass tubs and they yellowed over time and part of the prep is removing all of the fixtures. I'll write more about refinishing the tubs once it's completed. The fixtures are my focus today.

I was cleaning the fixtures and they haven't been used in over a year. They have hard water, calcium, all the ick. So I pulled out my traditional cleaning materials and got everything off except some dang water spots. I soaked them, scrubbed them, tried every wash known to man and then I found out the secret to removing them.
Bathroom Fixtures

WD-40. It's weird, I know. But it works! I don't know how. But it takes the spots off. It's inexpensive and you probably already have it somewhere in your house. If not, I included a link for you for Amazon.  I just lightly sprayed the fixtures and wiped them with a paper towel. THAT WAS IT! Seriously, that easy. Y'all are finding out that I am all for easy cleaning. I don't mind putting in a little elbow grease, but when I don't have to, it's life changing!

Short blog - easy fix. But wanted to share this for everyone who wants to shine up those fixtures!

Cheers!
